Help with Parenting

The Readiness To Learn Family Resource Center welcomes and celebrates all families! We are here to help connect you and your children to community support and activities.

How We Help

We provide parenting and family development classes on a regular basis. Follow us on social media or ask to be added to the Family Resource Center email list at rtlfprograms@readinesstolearn.org to stay updated on current programs. Here are some of our core offerings.

2023 Back to School Program

Classes

The Incredible Years

The Incredible Years is a skill-building class for parents of 3- to 8-year-olds. This program gives parents and caregivers the tools to practice nurturing relationships, use positive discipline and effective family communication, manage challenging behaviors and set loving limits.

Strengthening Families

Just because your kids are growing older doesn’t mean you have to grow apart! The Strengthening Families program helps youth ages 10-14 and their parents and caregivers improve communication and strengthen their relationships in a fun, interactive environment.

Online Safety 101

This workshop is for parents, caregivers, and community members. Online Safety 101 will help you develop an understanding of popular apps and video games and the risks they hold, develop a framework for setting limits online, and understand why it's so hard for kids to get off their phones. It also provides an overview of the family protective factors, tips for family conversation starters, and resources to support your family.

Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP)

The Relatives as Parents Program provides support to relatives who are caregivers of school-age children.

Are you raising your grandchild, niece, or nephew? Would you like to join an informal group of relative caregivers who understand what you are going through? You are invited to attend a monthly RAPP meeting in the Family Resource Center.
